LCB Receive Service (Animation)

Description

The LCB Receive Service is a service-level task/driver. It receives LAT internal-protocol packets from the LAT instrument (e.g., the Event Builder Module) and the other CPUs, via the LAT Communications Board.

All CPUs are able to use the (asynchronous) "event" path. In practice, only the SIU talks to the LAT instrument, using the (synchronous) command-response path.

The LCB Receive Service supports two data paths:

  • Source Task

A Source Task sends a message to the LCB Transmit Service, which forwards it to the input side of the LCB. The LCB passes the message to the Event Builder, which forwards it to the output side of the LCB. The LCB Receive Service forwards the message to a Destination Task.

  • LAT Instrument

The LAT Instrument sends a message to the Event Builder, which forwards it to the output side of the LCB. The LCB Receive Service forwards the message to a Destination Task.
