ISIS Requirement 1.0 (prev, next)

Req. 1.0: "MIL-STD 1553B Communication"

The ISIS will use the 1553 bus as the main communication channel with the spacecraft. The types of data that will pass over this channel are: LAT telemetry, SC commands, and ARR commands. In each case, the format of the data across this channel shall conform to the CCSDS standard.

Test(s)

    1a: 1553 Command Reception

    This test shall first verify the proper operation of the ISIS 1553 interface. Commands need not be executed to successfully carry out this test.

    1b: 1553 Command Delivery

    This test shall verify that commands issued in CCSDS format by the Spacecraft are delivered to software tasks running on the ISIS SIU, with destination determined by the Application Identification (APID) and function code fields in the CCSDS 1553 packet.

    1c: 1553 Command Verification

    This test shall show that all commands issued by the Spacecraft are delivered to the correct FSW tasks. Command counts, command execution status, and command reception/delivery status are returned in diagnostic telemetry, upon request.
