Core Minutes 10/20/2015
ScienceTools: (Jim) modified some files so that ST can be built against gsl libraries.
FSSC: Joe was unable to make the meeting, but reports
The only update I had was to state that the tip updates are still in progress.
Macs: (Richard) sent a note (but only just) to Julie and Jeremy about the possibility of support help. No reply yet.
Hardware: (Tom) The migration of wain32 to gpfs continues. 4 file systems will be moved today and the remaining 4 will be moved tomorrow. Jobs which may be affected include the AGN RSP and migration of log files for MC at Lyon. The responsible people have been warned. There should be little or no fall-out; at worst some jobs might have to be rerun.
(Richard) A contribution from the Italians has been released by INFN and is expected shortly, to be applied primarily to disk.
C&A (Tom) Matthew described improvements to extended source analysis.
Externals: (Heather) has made a build of GNU Scientific Library (GSL) as requested for rhel6. There have been no requests for rhel5. She will look into making a build for MountainLion.
That leaves ROOT. She is planning on making builds of 5.34.34 for rhel6 and MountainLion. (Richard) What about ROOT 6? (Heather) It exists and we could consider it, now that we've discontinued Windows support. It would take a significant validation effort.
