Core Minutes 9/15/2015
FSSC: (Joe) No news.
Resources: (Tom) The migration of contents of wain32 (old MC, RSP,...) has begun. It should be transparent to users.
(Warren) Yemi has asked for a meeting. (Richard) Yes, that needs to be scheduled. Probably he wants to talk about Fermi's $$ share for the new tape drives.
Reprocessing: No news from anyone which would point to a reprocessing run in the immediate future. (Richard) But at some point we will likely need a reprocessing run to recalculate diffuse columns.
(Leon) The quartiles are in somewhat the state that front/back use to be in. That is, MC and actual data differ significantly. The issue was resolved for front/back by adding a small amount of material between ACD tiles and tracker. For quartiles improved modeling is likely to be much more difficult. But if anyone ever does manage to figure it out, we would need reprocessing (possibly at the track level) to take advantage of it.
New Python (Heather) made a new build for Python: 2.7.6-gl2. Since no one seemed to be upset about dropping rhel5, she only made the new build for rhel6-64bit. ST LATEST is using it; no problems have been reported.
cfitsio, then ROOT (Heather) There's an ongoing issue with the upgrade to cfitsio 3.37. The handling of COMMENT and HSITORY cards changed. Joe indicates there is a bug in cfitsio which needs to be fixed, but in the meantime, he has introduced or will introduce a workaround in tip: see EXTLIB-14.
The next and final step to complete our external upgrades is to make a new ROOT for RH6-64 and validate it for GR.
