Core Minutes 1/26/2016
ScienceTools: (Jim) the FSSC has implemented its fixes to tip for cfitsio v3370. He also received a VM from the FSSC to try to debug some problem they were seeing.. it's not working well. There are problems due to the Mac preferring a GUI environment.
FSSC: (Joe) No news; just snow.
Confluence upgrade: (Tom) It was not trouble-free after all. Jean Ballet reported a lengthy load time for the Catalog group's agenda page. He (and others) reported several 10s of seconds load times, a noticeable increase after the confluence upgrade on 2 Jan 2016. I found the load times extremely variable: periods where 13s was the norm, a few times 60s. Due to local cache, reduced load times were possible on occasion. This was reported to SCS and they took a couple of actions, including updating the composition module (tabs), and removing a plug-in called viewtracker that caused a lot of DB activity on popular pages. Still, Jean was not happy, saying the change was barely noticeable. So this is still an ongoing investigation.
C&A (Richard) attended most of the meeting. Matthew discussed his new python app. You can find a link to his presentation in the agenda.
ROOT (Heather) We're almost there with the ROOT upgrade to v5.34.34, the last external we're waiting for. I'm testing it against GR and have built TMine. I've run into a problem running Gleam, which points at TMine. I'll be bugging Eric. You can see how things are going with this upgrade in Confluence.
GR (Heather) There is a new L1 tag: 20-10-04. Warren needs to test it, then put into production once it has received CCB approval.
