Core Minutes 1/12/2016
ScienceTools: (Jim)
FSSC: (Joe) No work to report on [other than imminent new tip; see above]. Note that FSSC will soon drop Mavericks. Supported Mac OSes will be Yosemite and El Capitan.
Confluence upgrade: (Tom) There have been scattered reports of problems since the upgrade.
C&A (Richard) There was a C&A meeting yesterday, but nothing impacting us came up.
New GR (Heather) There is a new tagged release, 20-10-04, to address JIRA LPATE-189.
Externals (Heather) Once the new tag of tip is available, she can finish up updates of ROOT, python, cfitsio and healpix.
Redhat support (Heather) Saclay can survive with ST 10-01-01 on rhel5 for now, but at some point they'll have to move to rhel7 (they have no plans to support rhel6).
Command-line installer (Heather) Brian put in a fix: the python script was using old tools to do the http connection (protocol version HTTP 1.0) which weren't up to handling the current set-up. Now list commands are working, but there still is a hang-up with install commands. This may be related to Brian's change. [Heather's hunch was correct. With the new stuff, command responses come back in a different form, which was not being handled correctly. Later this morning Heather managed to get install commands to work.]
