Core Minutes 11/12/2013
ScienceTools: (Jim) No news.
FSSC: (Joe) The data release went well; just some minor hiccups. He's working on old backlogged issues.
Pass7 reprocessing: (Tom G.) All complete, including final backfill.
Pass8 reprocessing: (Tom G.) 98% complete; may finish this week. Then there is likely to be some clean-up, followed by generation of FITS files. Could be that the whole thing will be done by Thanksgiving. (Philippe) Does that include LE & O? (Tom G.) No, that has to be done in a separate task, probably after the holidays.
Pass8 development (Heather) There is a new HEAD, 1511, with both debug and optimized builds available. The latter will be used for MC testing. And when testing is done we should make a tag, right? (Tracy) Right.
glastlnx to fermilnx migration: (Tom G.) glastlnx07 retirement is nearly upon us. In case anyone wants to test that functionality (e.g. accessed in the past via centaurusa alias) has been ported before the alias moves, they can use the new "physical" identifier fermilnx-v14.
rhel6 validation (Heather) There is a rhel6 optimized build available for the new GR HEAD. It is maybe time to start up automated rhel6 builds of tags so the validation process can get going.
Mountain Lion (Tom S.) has been working on building externals. Most of them are building all right, but he's run into some difficulties building the versions we're using of CLHEP, ROOT and Xerces and hasn't yet gotten to Python. Advancing version could help in some cases but, since FSSC is able to build all the externals in the versions we use on Mountain Lion, it ought to be possible with our Mac. Presumably there is some configuration issue.
The other stumbling block so far is CVS access. Tom can't connect to the repository from this Mac, unlike any other machine he has an account on. The sys admins are looking into it. has no news to report yet.
