Core Minutes 11/19/2013
ScienceTools: (Jim) There were two items this week:
See also Science Tools Development Notes.
FSSC: (Joe) No news this week.
Pass8 reprocessing: (Tom G.) Complete (through June 13), but various kinds of clean-up are needed. For example, starting a couple weeks ago many of the emails which routinely get sent as part of the reprocessing have been corrupted.
Pass8 development (Leon) GR 20-09-05 was released last week, as scheduled. Philippe is in town and has been a chief instigator in the effort to compare with MC. Several discrepancies have been noted. Different calibration configurations, in particular alignment, are being investigated. (Heather) There will be another tag (20-09-06) before too long.
glastlnx to fermilnx migration: (Tom G.) The centaursa alias will be moved from glastlnx07 to fermilnx-v14 later this morning. Those who regularly access resources via that alias should try it out after the move.
Mountain Lion (Tom S.) has managed to build ROOT, one of the recalcitrant externals, after installing X windows. There may be similar configuration issues with the remaining externals which failed to build on first attempt: Xerces, CLHEP. Those and Python are the only ones left.
(Heather) CLHEP maintainers have encouraged us to upgrade CLHEP. That is not going to happen now and shouldn't be necessary since FSSC is able to build our current version on Mountain Lion. However there is some pressure to upgrade G4 before long. At that time we could consider upgrading CLHEP as well.
