astroTools
Linux versions of some of the "standard" astronomical software tools are being installed in AFS space at SLAC. The base directory is /afs/slac/g/glast/applications/astroTools.
The current contents are
DS9: The version 3.0b6 executable is contained in the bin subdirectory.
Super Mongo: sm version 2.4.1 is in the bin subdirectory. Documents are in the doc subdirectory.
FTOOLS: The version 5.3 distribution from GSFC is installed in the lheasoft subdirectory.
IDL libraries: Several popular collections of IDL routines are found under the idl subdirectory. These include the Johns Hopkins collection, the GSFC astro collection, and the Markwardt and Deutsch collections.
astroroot: Version 3.0 is installed in the astroroot subdirectory.
CIAO: Version 3.0.2 is installed in the ciao_3.0.2 subdirectory, without CALDB. There wasn't enough room for the whole thing.
To use these products,
source /afs/slac/g/glast/applications/astroTools/astrotools_setup.csh
This will set all the necessary environmental variables, including PATH, IDL_PATH, and LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Perhaps a Bourne shell equivalent will be provided some day.
