Core Minutes 6/23/2015
ScienceTools: (Jim) No ScienceTools activity. There is a new release of ASP: 07-00-00.
FSSC: (Joe, Jeremy) Still on track to release tools and data on June 24th.
Reprocessing: (Tom) Final backfill is ready to go as soon as he is told the last run to include. (Jeremy) What is end point for data to be released on that date? And how long will it take to process data through the 24th? (Tom) We're caught up through midnight, June 3. It will take a few days to process the last backfill (through June 24).
Level 1 readiness: (Warren) We're ready.
Hardware: (Richard) Swapping Seagate drives out of xrootd servers when possible continues.
The Computer Center wants to upgrade tape systems to drives which can read 8-10 Tbyte tapes, but still able to handle our 5 TByte tapes. We may be asked to chip in.
A new server has been designated for recovering archived data. Such operations should go more smoothly now.
News from C&A: (Leon) Eric made a presentation on techniques for significantly speeding up (factor of ~100) creation of all-sky likelihood maps for different dark matter particle models.
Processing LCI data (Heather) Steve Tether incorporated his updates to eventFile in a new CHS release and Heather made a new GR (20-10-03) using it. See JIRA LPATE-188. Steve had to work around a build problem: the python version used by CHS is relatively old and the description of it did not follow the (not so) new directory path convention. Heather made an update to the SConsFiles package to fix this. See JIRA GRINF-70
Doxygen Generation (Joanne) noticed that Heather's recent GR builds created doxygen correctly so declared this issue resolved. The OS setting for ScienceTools has also been changed to rhel6 64-bit. See details at JIRA GRINF-69.
ModelEditor (Heather) A new collaborator had trouble getting modeleditor to run. He has been advised to use the FSSC distribution, which should help in a couple ways:
(Jeremy) Is there a particular reason the FSSC modeleditor isn't in the SLAC distribution? (Jim) I've asked for it to be many times. [Arrangements were then made to push it back to the SLAC distribution as soon as possible.]
