Core Minutes 4/5/2011ScienceTools: (Jim) There is a new ST tag, 09-23-00. Features include new Pass7 IRFs, reverting to old behavior of extrapolating beyond diffuse model energy limit, and other tweaks.
New /catalogProducts and /diffuseModels directories are now in $GLAST_EXT. Need to populate these areas and wire it into SCons and ST. This means another tag to ST, probably sometime this week.
(Richard) Are bracketing IRFs included in ST? A: No. Gino will be prodded.
Level 1 woes: (Tom G.) Last night [Monday, the 4th] we suffered from two sick servers (wain069/wain019) and two misconfigured servers (sccs02/sccs04) which were not set up to perform checksum calculations on incoming files. wain069 appears to have a defective disk. The other issues have been resolved.
P6_V11 transition readiness: (Tom G.) Level 1 is ready; Reprocessing is ready. There will be a meeting next Monday afternoon to discuss transition details. NOTE: need to keep Tom Stephens in the loop.
Pass8: (Leon) We have a new Pass8 GlastRelease, with some reorganization of code (truncated tracks), attempting to put more generic tools in TkrUtils directory. Continued improvements to tracking and clustering codes. Bill Atwood is taking fresh look at vertexing code. Various people are going over code and data with fine-tooth comb.
WIRED: Updated WIRED code is about to be deployed by Tony. It includes bug fixes and new features, e.g., picking and instance trees.
(Tony J., via Heather) Dima's version (as of ~2 weeks ago) is running
at
http://glast-tomcat03.slac.stanford.edu:8080/DataPortalWired/
but that is only accessible at SLAC (or via VPN). I will put it up
somewhere on glast-ground so others can access it.
Onboard filter: (Tracy) has been working with JJ Russell to make this code rhel5-compliant and simplifying integration with GlastRelease, aiming for both Linux and Windows support. There has been some discussion about long-term maintenance of OBF integration with GlastRelease - whether we need to 'freeze' the OS environment. Not yet.
Documentation: (Chuck) sends the following:
A new WB tag (08-00-07) has been created and Berrie has updated the mirror site. Work is continuing on the update of the Science Tools tutorials and reference files. Currently, I'm revisiting the Likelihood reference pages and cross-checking them with Jim's Doxygen docs. I'm also meeting with Gino this afternoon to discuss the respective interface(s) between the workbook and the new Standard Analysis pages in Confluence. Next Newsletter is scheduled for the week of 04/18.
Richard: Part of the web reorganization effort is focusing on the glast-ground page. Pat will look to using same single-signon scheme in use at SLAC. Need to verify Confluence and workbook are properly inter-linked.
G4
Heather: Any news from Francesco/Geant4 folks to get new version into
CVS? Issue of getting new G4 working with Visual Studio 2003?
A: No news yet on new version.
