Introduction to Flight Software
|
The FSW (Flight Software) group is creating software to operate the LAT (Large Area Telescope) instrument in the GLAST (Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope) satellite, process the data it collects, and output the resulting scientific information. The FSW documentation assumes familiarity with a number of entities. The Entities tutorial provides a quick introduction to the most visible ones: constituents, functions, packages, packets, projects, requirements, tasks, and tests. The CPU Usage and Event Filtering tutorials provide useful background information, but they will not be necessary for most readers. The Development Concepts tutorials (e.g., Overview, Build Matrix, and File Tree) go into much greater detail on build-time terminology: constituents, packages, projects, tags, and versions. The Development Tools tutorials (e.g., Overview, CMX, and Doxygen) will be of particular interest to beginning FSW developers. Note: Much of the software developed by the Flight Software group is used as infrastructure (e.g., for the development, testing, and documentation of the operational flight software). For more information on this ancillary software, see Documentation Data Flow and Traveler Document Index. |
