Brief Overview of the November 2004 FSW Demonstration
Demonstration Agenda
The end-of-the-month November 2004 FSW Demonstration (actually held on December 3) covers three major areas of functionality. Note: Demonstration of 1 Science Data Interface requirement (5.2.1.3.2) and 4 Time Services requirements (5.3.4.2, 5.3.4.2, 5.3.4.4, 5.3.4.5) have been rescheduled for January 2005. In the demonstrations, the Spacecraft will be represented by the Spacecraft Data Interface Simulator (SDIS) from Spectrum Astro; the LAT will be represented by the Instrument to Spacecraft Interface Simulator (ISIS), constructed at SLAC. The following functional areas will be demonstrated: Command ProcessingThis demonstration extends on and completes demonstrations conducted in January, May, July, and August. For today's demonstrations, telecommands sent by the demonstration Spacecraft are processed by the SIU. A notification of the command's execution and completion status is returned by the SIU to the Spacecraft in Housekeeping telemetry. The demonstration also shows that FSW can execute serial block commands for file/memory uploads or dumps. The demonstration also shows that commands are validated by data integrity error checks and command parameter validation. Six of nine of the command processing requirements from Section 5.3.3 of the SRS will meet full progress with this demonstration. File ManagementThis demonstration also extends earlier demonstrations to the full set of file management operations. Directories on the SIU will be created and deleted, and their contents will be dumped. Files will be copied on a given processor and copied between processors. Contents of files on the SIU will be dumped. Files will be uploaded. 13 of 14 file management requirements from Section 5.3.7 of the SRS will meet full progress with this demonstration. Memory ManagementThis demonstration shows the full range of memory management operations, including memory dumps and loads. Six of seven memory management requirements from Section 5.3.7 of the SRS will meet full progress with this demonstration. |
